Capitalize on your Interests: Using the Strong Interest Inventory in Career Planning

  • March 13, 2018 • 1 PM – 4 PM
  • CAPS- 3624 Market St., First Floor West, University of Pennsylvania

Are you curious where other people with interests similar to yours end up working? Do you hope to achieve satisfaction in your work after Penn? Are you interested in maintaining a balance between your work and leisure activities? The Strong Interest Inventory is a powerful tool that can help you make satisfying decisions about your career and even your education. The instrument reflects your interests in relation to occupations and compares your interests to the interests of people happily employed in a wide variety of occupations. From those comparisons the inventory identifies job titles related to your interests. Understanding your Strong Profile can help you identify a career focus and begin your career planning and exploration process. Participants in this program will take the Strong Interest Inventory before the workshop. During the workshop we will explore the inventory in greater detail and consider how it can be helpful in educational and career exploration. Participants will also work through several guided exercises to apply the results.

The core career-readiness competency addressed in this workshop is: Self-Management & Personal Wellness (SMPW). For more information on the Penn7 career competencies, please see:

Please register for this workshop no later than Friday, March 9 to ensure adequate time for completing the assessment.
